The decline of English seaside traditions

You are quite right of course, Gary. Change is a constant factor in our lives and the world around us whether we like it or not.
The important thing is to embrace it as best we can and as photographers record it.

Not many tourists milling about this year. Southport isn't exactly teeming with them at the best of times but last year a mass stabbing took place at a dance studio and three children were killed and ten others injured. A protest followed which degenerated into a riot stirred up by right wing outsiders. People, being what they are, are staying away this year. Small seaside towns like Southport rely on tourism and need support, not avoidance.
