The Fall of the Berlin Wall - Potsdam

Although the fall of the wall in Berlin was celebrated on its anniversary on Sunday, the border was not opened in Potsdam until the following day. Celebrations took place at Glienicker Brücke yesterday but 25 years before that, my friend Rheinhard took photographs of the actual events of the day and during the subsequent days. These images we're the subject of an exhibition about 10 years ago and can be viewed at:

Good stuff, Pete. I love the one with the train tracks going into the wall. Must have been an incredible event. I remember being glued to the TV as the news developed. Even I felt a little liberated.

A great one Pete as I'll never forget the tearing down. Wish we could tear down a lot more. I hope your visionary capabillity is intact too ;) and as a certain people from across the ocean have a tendancy of saying," you know what I mean."

Have memories from 1974 of my time at the wall, staying at Montgomery Barracks where the wall, well fence at that point, passed through the old vehicle sheds...I keep meaning to arrange a revisit...
