Thank you Pete. I was hoping I wasn't going to view it in the morning and wonder why I had posted it. I do like the way mist defuses the light. Now that is just plain gorgeous. The colours are perfect and the mist lends just the right touch of desolation. Wonderful shot Julian.
Thank you for those words Rob.Yes, I love this too. So gentle in declaring its presence, like there is a hush around it. Probably just the sound of the waves. Very nice atmospheric shot, Julian.
Thank you Tom, I very much appreciate what you say.Brilliant, brilliant shot Julian.
There really is an atmosphere here and the colouring is beautiful. That structure seems to take on a life of it's own and a human presence would have done this image no favours at all. The way the lovely curve of the slide disappears into the sand is a highlight for me. And the absence a "good" sky is a real bonus in this case..
Thank you Ivor. For the sake of your pockets my recommendation is to ignore the camera or any camera .As a latecomer to this review, it's ten minutes after midnight, and all there is to be said of praise has already been said, I can only cheer on what tom and the rest have said. As much as I admire it all I also have to say that this camera intrigues me to an extent that no longer can be ignored it seems. Cheers Julian.
Thanks Brian. I could imagine you enjoying either the 1 or 2 depending on the focal length you prefer. It is such a simple camera albeit a bit of a pain as far as the software on the computer is concerned. I am fully used to it an actually do not mind at all now.Lovely muted colors, Julian. I need one of those cameras!
I'd never like to feel any responsibility for another's decisions in such matters. Yet if I can be of any help, yes I'd not ideally have it as my only camera, these other camera's mentioned have a whole other side to offer which betters the Sigma's. Speed low light and so on. Yet now, knowing what I know I'd have it as my first choice even with the limitations it brings if push came to shove. (possibly )OK then mates. One more question as I consider the DP1 Merrill I think it's called. The one with an approximate 19mm/f2,8. Here in this country it's being sold at the lowest brand new for £356 English sterling. If I do, my intention is to use that one, the xe1 with a 35mm and the other xe1 with 55-200 as a carry on. Or am I fooling myself again?
