Just for Show Thursdays purchase

I dont know why I thought you had a camera Ivar. I must have been mistaken. ;)
How is this new acquisition? Or maybe you have spoken of it before and I've missed it.

You thought right , I have a Pentax K30 and purchased a Pentax KS2 on last thursday. Mainly because I then have two cameras identical in use, both can take a heck of a lot of rain even can wash it under the tap, truly. I do not have to change lenses. They are light, small and jolly good in low light and the last one, the KS2 has no AA filter albeit it can be turned on. It's about 20mb, lightening fast focus and follow focus and compared to the fuji X-E1, the viewfinder is crystal clear big prism finder with a hundred % view and not to forget a flip out rear display. One fuji is on the shelf, one is with me with a 35mm/1,4 and the two Pentaxes. Almost as you with the three Merlins:D When I'm sporty, well that's the camera.

Blinkey blimey , sounds to me as if you deed an antidote from all this this hyperactivity, its sounds far to energetic. May I suggest a good dose of the Merlin. :D

Some lovely images here Ivar. I especially like the colors in the penultimate one,...the one with lobster sign and the Viking ships.

I like them all. Very nice shots, Norseman. Ive just looked at the camera on various sites. They get good reviews, but f4 max seems slowish, and not great for low light. But to hell with that, you have beautiful light in Norway! The lens is good, and 20mps is more than enough. So, underwater shots?

Thank you Brian and Rob. The kit lens is actually quite good as when you focus on something near wide angle like with a big opening, you aim to defuse the surroundings. Want everything sharp, well close down the aperture. The high iso abillities are superb too. I do have primes but they are not weather resistant, yet. Great, small and light cameras to an acceptable price compared to the socalled hotshots.

Ivar, does it have an electronic level in it ?
Yes Julian, both k30 and the last ks2 have it. I may sound like a teenager in love, but that is what it feels like. Actually Pentax is underrated, they have made them very logical in regard to operations and the last one, ks2, also has a display to flip out sideways etc..Have a look at it on the net I can truly recommend it albeit it was launched recently. With a one like that with it's new collapsible kit lens, you won't have to worry about rain, sleet, snow or seawater. All you have to do is rinse it under the tap. Honestly, we have done it with no fear or bad result.

I wondered how useful the level was? No I am not going to buy another camera in the foreseeable future. Done with that. I got the Olympus EM-5 a long time ago ,which is fine in the pouring rain with appropriate lenses. That was one good reason for the purchase as I had this idea of taking a lot of shots in the rain. But it turns out I dont stand around a lot in the rain taking pictures as often as I thought I may. I have heard a lot about Pentax and from the film days new the camera, the results I see, are superb.

Now Julian, I merely pointed out how in love I am and I prefer to keep my new love to myself so later I can gloat. :pYou should know by now that I need no level help inside a camera. Should I stumble and go wrong in that respect, I have Pete to look after me. In my intoxication and infactuation I plain forgot  that you have the Olympus omd5, which is a fine camera.
