Top of the Morning

I've been looking at this shot for a year now and finally decided to process it. Early morning in Torun, Poland. The rising sun casting shadows on the old city wall beside the river Vistula.

at first it looks simple, but the more you look the more detail start to seep thru , excellent shot

Nice vibrant colours pete.
The colours remind me of a landscape shot that I took a couple of years ago. I used a massa red graduated filter on it to exentuated the sky (which come to think about it now it didn't need tbh) and its also a shot that I want to go back to and have a serious session of pp on it. It doesn't have anything on this shot of yours pete, this is fantastic! But, once again, an inspirational thread by yourself :) hope you don't mind me posting the picture in question on this thread :/

Yeah I do need to sort it out. Lol.
Is that white residue on the brick work or is that the suns reflection? It draws me in and makes me want to where my sunglasses. Lol

I like shots like this, shadows always make for great subjects. I feel that this some how needs a crop I cannot quite put my finger on it but there's something missing from this shot, for some reason I want the lamppost shadow to be more dominant in the frame

I know what you mean Vic, that's why it took me so long to do anything with it. Given that I couldn't get a more straight-on shot, I had intended to crop it squre with the lampost as a diagonal lead. But the lines of the brings really mess that idea up. I already cropped in and thus moved hte lamp to the left to get rid of the top of the wall and thus keep the geometry simpler. Feel free to have a play.

I'll have a little croppage session with it, it would be interesting to see although I can't quite see how I would crop it yet:)
