TRACTION

I don't usually care much at all about horizons being off, but have to admit that is what first came to mind with both images. Maybe I didn't sleep very well last night...

That aside, I do like the blacks in your recent monotones. And I love those big chunky traction engines!

Something about blown highlights in the skies of B&W foties has a strong appeal for me. I like #1 for that. (HO64717 must be much heavier than FJB990.)

I like #2 for the sense of anticipation.

It was also the E 16mm f2.8 without any lens correction in the software so the horizon is the least of the wobbly bits.

to hot here at night to sleep, a bit grey today so maybe better tonight,

I am with you on the blown highlights, it is what I have always liked about B+ W photos.

Love the dense shadows in the traction engine shot. They loom rather nicely too. And the shot of the guys on the chairs has a nice sense of lethargy to it. It will be nice to see it again in the winter to find out how much of that is an influence of the current heat. :)

Both good images and they do have a sense of something about to happen next don't they?

Had not thought about that one Paul. Nothing to much to get exited about other than eventually it has clouded over and everyone is back to their miserable selves.:D

Yes I have several versions and the dark shadows against the white sky, not better but different. trouble is when you have several versions often they are all ok. I just wish I had hung round, taking a few more of the chairs as people vacated and arrived. A time lapse would have worked well there.
It was so hot I would have gulped down one of those radiative looking slush drinks, no problem if available.
