Been rooting around on the internet trying to find a Russian rangefinder with a quiet shutter. Stumbled across this website, thought it might be useful or interesting to other members! I cant think of a single Russian camera that I am aware of that isn't mentioned on there!

My friend who runs the photography online courses had a bit of a passion for Russian cameras and had several with very quiet shutters. As it turned out, too quiet!

How about going up a format to a Mamiya 6 or 7. They are probably even quieter than a Leica cloth shutter.

That's great, I never knew there was so much care taken into making shutters silent. Was there a motive? Russian spy I'm thinking of. Lol. I have an edixa prismat with a shutter sound that I can only describe as loading a magazine in an SA80 rifle!! Very impressive noise that comes out that thing. But well off the subject, coz it's not russian. It's a noisy german! Hahaha!
