Waiting Room

Excellent Rob, my favourite light, I love the diffusion mist gives. Love the colours and realise it ends as a digital image but the influence of the original film is always evident.

Thanks, Julian. Yes, it ends up as a digital image, but as you say the film roots are showing through. I'm liking that more and more.

It is far more aesthetically pleasing to myself and more realistic. One of the reason I enjoy the Merrill's to the point I do. It is also why I get what I do from Brian's Cafinol developed images, which go that one step further into deliciousness that straight film.

I haven't done Caffenol in a long time Julian. Did you mean to refer to my pictures developed in Rodinal? (If you actually meant Caffenol maybe I need to go back to that!) Anyway, thank you.

Rob: Lovely atmospheric pair of images here. Isn't the XA3 a remarkable wee thing? (So too its brethren XA, XA2 and XA4. By the way, there is also an XA1. It is much less technologically sophisticated than the others, but probably still very capable under the right circumstances I imagine.)

Yes the caffenol it seems such a sort time ago, but time being relevant for you it may have been quite a lot longer than for myself ;)
I have also acquired some washing soda, although yet to ascertain if it contains water or not. It was off the shelf at Asda (Walmart to those living west of here) I have a large jar of vit C and am wondering whether to use bromide or not, but have iso 400 film so maybe aught too. Also need some fix, may skip the stop bath. The biggest challenge is getting the rolls of film shot.
Have the Caffinol bible from here.
