Nipped out yesterday to visit a place I last went to many moons ago, when I say nipped out, a seven hour journey there and back. Rewarded with some epic light and clearing skies. The Lake District at its best.
Shame on the dirty tramps that left their barbecue tray and rubbish by the side of the lake

Love that place! Had to go over the hard knott pass to get there :)

Went back home via both Hardknott and Wrynose it was interesting to say the least.

The most astonishing thing I saw was someone attempt it in a caravan....... Stupid does not come close!

Needless to say..... I don't thing we saw them on the other side... :)

Excellent compositions all of them Nick. You obviously like your landscapes "dark". Not my cup of tea but I appreciate exactly what you are doing here, and very successfully at that.

Hi Tom
I like my images to have a certain feel about them, I find landscape at its best when it feels threatening and moody, as someone in the gallery quoted the other day 'very brontesque'. However I do have some high key images, Hopefully off to Eigg in a few weeks, so might do some lighter work :)

Great set Nick. I feel the third is a little too dark. The Lakes is a great location. Also the Fuji does seem to work well in B&W.
