I'm going to go back to these posts with a tripod, and go for the f.16, the highest f-stop on the Merrill. Maybe lug the Mamiya RB67 along, for f.45...
 
Well, it's in response to what Jerry @Jerry Robillard was talking about the other day, with Weston, Adams, etc, going for the big f-stops, so that everything is in focus. I just want to see what difference that would make to these images. These were at the other end of the scale, f2.8. When I went above f.5.6 I started getting visible camera shake. So a tripod is required before going further. Doubt if I'll get time before the weekend.

I wonder being that close if you would be getting significant depth of focus, but I don't know and as you say, best to try it. I always like that idea of going to revisit subjectsin an attempt to inprove on the last time and come back with something with another twist. Best of luck, it is an interesting subject, certainly something I'd stop by.
