March and April are quiet months in the south western approaches. So when you have bee to sea for several trips , returning with small catches, you turn too catching up on the vessels mataineance.

Good jumble of stuff there. I'm debating with myself if there is too much going on, but on the other hand it's good to have things to keep the interest. Not sure if the rope above the guy is helping the image or not. Good, interesting shot, though, Julian.

Thanks Rob and I think that is why I enjoy the image, for the ropes. The ropes for me keeps the eye from being too static, which I quite like. It has grown on me and I have a few more which are slightly different. But yes was aware of the ropes at the time and tried to mke what I could with them.

A fine pair of shots, Julian and, For, me the second works better as you are not so concentrated on the figure. As you say, the eye moves around.
Thanks Pete. Yes the figure in the first I liked the curved positioning, which is why i chose that image along with all else going on. The second the water added something for myself.

A third one which was put through DXO film pack 3 Fuji neopan 1600 I belive with a touch of the old sepia

Took me a moment to figure out what I was looking at but when it came to me I liked it instantly. I like what Rob called the jumble of stuff. I find the 2nd one a more immediately approachable image; in other words, it opened up to me quicker. I like it better than the first. The 3rd one is also an improvement over the first one in that the older look and feel to it suits the subject matter excellently. Very well documented slice of south western seaside life, Julian. (As usual! You are very good at these.)

Thanks Brian. I agree with all you say. I also prefer the last which has been through a simulated film software. There is a part of me that thinks it is cheating , which is plain daft as long as I don't flog it as being film.
