Asian architecture is so fascinating. I love how geometric it can be. This is a dramatic shot too that feels wider than it really is.

    Critique Welcomed Lower Yosemite Falls

Thank you all, I've been trying to improve my ultra-wide compositions recently, because even though I thought I was doing it right all along, I lacked an appealing foreground most of the time. Just had to keep experimenting.

    What's The Fuji 18mm F/2 Actually Like?

I am really pleased with the XF 18mm on my X-Pro 1. I have 4 primes for this system now but I still enjoy using the 18mm for street photography quite a bit. It definitely isn't the "best" lens I've ever used from a pure image quality standpoint but it's also far from the worst. On its own...

    Cinestill Help

Yep that will do the trick, and most C-41 films look better overexposed anyways. I usually only shoot them at box speed or higher if the lighting calls for it, but otherwise I overexpose a stop on purpose. I should get around to trying CineStill film sometime, I know the guys that are...

Critique Welcomed Black Sky Over Raasay

As mentioned, there is a definitely dark and brooding atmosphere greatly accentuated by the presence of grain. I've never processed Tri-X in Rodinal before, is that the typical response?

I must admit I don't have the Hexar anymore, I still regret selling it, because it's just such a wonderful camera and I enjoyed shooting with it for a few years. @Hamish I bought the Pakon in late December admittedly because of the flurry of interest in them, it seemed like a viable option for...

Brian the Hexar AF is a fixed lens camera with a primo 35mm f/2. Supposedly it is akin to an early Leica Summicron but I've also heard that it's designed after the Nikkor 3.5cm f/1.8 S-mount lens.

Got my Pakon scanner back up and running, and I scanned in this old frame that I liked from my Hexar AF. Shot wide open on Ilford Delta 100.

    Critique Welcomed Lower Yosemite Falls

Taken at Lower Yosemite Falls this past January. It was a particularly dry winter here in California, and it was never more obvious than visiting Yosemite in the middle of January. A time when there should have been snow everywhere, there was barely any to be seen on the peaks. The waterfalls...

    Critique Welcomed Sunset At Rockpile

Well thank you all for the feedback. I too agree that the saturation was a bit much for me; but just having color in my image is a lot for me to deal with on its own! (I'm a monochrome guy).

    Critique Welcomed Sunset At Rockpile

I captured this image a little while back on a particularly rare evening with enough clouds to make a dramatic sunset. I don't often do exposure blends, and I know this one isn't perfect, so I welcome any constructive critiques on improving the final product. I used a 5DmkIII and 16-35mm f/2.8L...

Critique Welcomed La Jolla Tide Pools

I know this spot, been here a few times myself. I really like the dramatically wide feel to the image and how your random tourist is nearly a silhouette. It adds a bit of a pensive mood to the shot.

    Greetings From California

Thank you all for the kind welcome, I can already tell I'm going to like this group :). I will start contributing some work very soon when I have a little more time to post. Though photography is my main passion (and source of income) I am making something of a lateral move in the creative...

    Greetings From California

Hello everyone! I just recently came across this forum and I have to admit I was really drawn in by the name, but then I started to browse around and see the kind of content you all post and I was enticed to sign up. I participate fairly regularly on a number of photography related forums, but...
