It was the scans that were poor. Next time I might get prints and scan them, or take other advice I've had and photograph them myself with a digital camera and extension tubes

Thanks for the kind comments. My mistake of course, it's Kodak Gold 200ASA. I've been scanning hundreds of Kodachrome slides from the 1970's recently and must have had it on my mind! Processed as C41 by the local Fujifilm franchise.
I've really enjoyed this challenge, it's been many years since I had to make every shot count (or try to, anyway). Like the rest of the members, I'm sure, it's become commonplace for me to take half a dozen digital shots of the scene in question in a lazy attempt to guard against errors so to...

OK, so I bought my charity-shop camera and my Kodachrome 200 and I've just got the negatives back from the local processor and I may be able to find three shots that are not completely useless, so what do I do now? In other words, is there a section of the site you'd like...
Excellent tip-off. I've already ordered a set for the Yashica FX-3 I bought for the £10 challenge (£4.99 in local charity shop). A bit hasty perhaps as I haven't had the negatives developed yet!
