    Who's got Google + then

I'm on there, and I think you can now mark a circle public so it can be seen by everyone (otherwise we all have to make our own circles).

As long as we stick to cars in the thread I don't really mind where it goes as long as it's not drifting! ;-)

    What is a "Real Photographer"?

Ok, for the context of my post lets assume skill means knowing which end of the lens to attach to the camera :p Thing is though that lots of people have the desire (if only for a short time), so where do you draw the line?

    What is a "Real Photographer"?

I'd describe a real photographer as someone who has the skill to produce photographs other people want to look at, regardless of the size of the audience and methods used.

Thanks guys. The champ car is Emerson Fittipaldi's old Indy car, it did run up the hill but the runs weren't timed. Probably a good job too given it'll do 98mph in first gear and is set up for oval tracks.

Don't get me wrong, I know they're not bad pictures, it's just I've had specific shots in mind that I know I've wanted to get and I've played it safe standing in the same spots over and over again with a higher shutter speed. I've just not been as creative as I was last year, but thinking about...

What would you like to see in Lightroom 4

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Lightroom and I think Adobe have got it pretty much spot on for 99% of basic photo editing that people need to do. It's just never enough, it's like you know there's a large carrot on a stick around somewhere, you just can't find it...

What would you like to see in Lightroom 4

Basically I'd like an easier to use Photoshop for photographers with Lightroom's cataloging ;-)

What would you like to see in Lightroom 4

Yeah, I think it would be useful for example to allow the brush to increase the amount of blacks or recovery as per the global sliders, but in a more localised way. Oh, and I'd like to be able to more easily control the black point without having to faff about with split toning.

What would you like to see in Lightroom 4

I'd like to see some kind of local contrast adaptation, and a brush that allows you to apply the same kind of control as you get from the main sliders. And a simplified form of Photoshops layers. I've noticed a few other programmes implementing this, so fingers crossed...

    A year at Prescott

A (small) selection of my favourite shots from 2011 at the Prescott hill climb below, feels like it's been a long year compared with previous seasons and I'm not as happy with the shots I've taken this year as I have been in the past. Possible stagnating, I don't know.... Anyway, photos...

    Photography in the rain

I always find rainy shots can look more dramatic, and a with a bit of extra post processing you can usually make them look even better. Get out there! :D
