Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

Thanks Hamish - I don't think I've ever tried Kodak so might give it a go.

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

Blimey! So film photography needn't be expensive! Apart from Agfa Vista 200 and Fuji Superia 400, which other C41 compatible films (colour) would be recommended?

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

It might be cheapy but I love the tones!

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

Hamish - what type of Fuji 400 did you use for the colour photos? Provia?

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

Hamish and Rob - I love your photo sets! Just so nice... I can't put my finger on why - probably the fact they were taken with film.

I really like the pic in poor light, Dave!

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

Great - thanks guys! I may start with the Ilford XP2, since many of you use it. Would something like an Olympus Trip be ok for decent pics - I mean the quality? I also have an OM-1N but in truth, I haven't used it and apart from the split prism focussing, I'm not 100% sure how to get the...

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

Thanks Brian and Dave :) I've found that some larger branches of ASDA can process film - it costs £2.50 to develop each roll and £1 to put it on CD. They will put 2-3 rolls onto one CD for the same price, £1. The only thing they said is that they can only process C41 (whatever that means)...

Advice Re: Film Developing And Which Film

I bought a few film cameras about 3 years ago and took one of them - an Olympus Trip 35 - to San Francisco with me in 2010. I took this pic with the Trip...I think I may have used Ilford B&W film and had the roll developed by a supermarket (mainly because they were much cheaper). I'm thinking...

    Magpie Mine

Yep, excellent series and in particular the first one, which really does it for me. It may sound weird but I almost wish the mine wasn't in the first pic as the tones of the foreground and sky are that good.

Critique Welcomed View Of London At Night From The Shard

Thanks Ivar. Actually, most of my long exposures are improvised as I use anything I have to keep the camera still - tables, ledges, handbags :D You'll have great opportunities for pics at the Shard as the views are truly amazing, but even without the pics, I'm sure you'll have a good time...

Critique Welcomed A Few From This Morning

Grrrr..deserting the UK weather for the west coast...what next!:p:D My fav is the velvia with the orange tint, before you corrected the WB (where you said you went for a more subtle tone) - that's really really nice. I would get rid of the vignetting on the right but that's just me.

Critique Welcomed View Of London At Night From The Shard

Thanks Pete and Beth. My first thought was that the moon looks a bit weird as it is and that I wished it had come out more, but I guess it's an unusual position to what we normally see in photos.

LOL - yes, my attempt at keeping the camera straight on the table didn't work did it :p:) Apart from the dodgy horizon, is the pic good enough as it is for printing? Thanks for all the great comments folks!
