Not too sure about that sky. It would have worked better if he'd also blurred the sky through the arch as well! 30s exposure?!!

Tim - I think there are some ideas in the article that I need to try - break out of my usual habits

Yep. Pretty damned obvious too I'd say. Standard shot. Motion blur on sky. Forgot the bit through the arch. That ain't a 30s sky!

Yeah, I have to call BS on that one, too. But a few good tips, nonetheless. I note that he was also shooting ISO 50 on his 5D2 for some shots...
