12/12 Tarot

Over the next 12 Months I'm going to be capturing images from 12 tarot card themes.

More often than not I'll be going off on a tangent but I'll make sure there's a link to the months theme, even if vague. It'll be for the viewer to work out.

Images will be taken that month and not from old material. Exif data will be present and I'm starting with chariot to ease myself in!

I've not done this before so you can expect the unexpected.

May: Chariot
June: Hermit
July: Fool
August: Judgement
September: Moon
October: Lover
November: Death
December: Wheel of Fortune
January: Tower
February: Sun
March: Temperance
April: Strength

Are you going to try and include any of the standard (Rider-Waite) imagery and are you going to interpret the card name or the meanings usually attributed to each of them?

Or am I getting too complicated....(Probably..:) )
Either way, it sounds like an interesting project.

Sounds like a great project!
If I miss any pm me with the link and I'll make them into a set of articles or the ezine...
Feel free to use the blogging feture of the forum so we can see them in the same place
(see Kev Pugh's 366 blog for what I mean)

I'm looking forward to this a lot!
Thank you Pete. If it wasn't for coming across such a nice forum I wouldn't have done this but members energy and images have got me fired up once again. Last time I processed an image from RAW was last December!

Good question Adrian. The individual card meanings as interpreted by a card reader I have no experience of so I'm taking them on title value only. Also, because I'll be using the card names as interpretation each card image will be insignificant.
With that said I'm making this easier on myself by having the room to be creative and not being constrained.

Ezine? I'll have to look at this Hamish.

Regarding the blog feature, I'm guessing I hit 'blog this post' each time I make an entry with a new image?

Click the home button ... That's the ezine
Everything there is written by members "features" are articles written entirely by members and are self contained
"links and reference" are articles that link to other articles or useful info elsewhere online
Latest is a feed of both
It's the magasine part of the site (or "ezine" as it is online) but unlike most photography sites we like to use it to promote members projects, photos with back stories, tutorials etc as well as broader reaching stuff from the world of photography

Excellent idea - a theme or challenge gets you out of your comfort zone, and gets the creative juices flowing.

Looking forward to watching the series unfold :)

First one taken this afternoon, 'Chariot'. If anyone is expecting a run of classic vehicles you're going to be very disappointed!

Great idea and a great start!

I'm doing a few themes myself this year!

A great start to an interesting project :D I will be watching this with interest, what camera/format are you using for this project?

Thank you guys. I've been struggling to pick up the camera lately and hence why I needed this thread to help push me.

The camera I'm using is the Lumix FZ150 David. I sold all my DSLR kit over Xmas, 2 x 5D2's a 7D inc lenses & more.

As this progresses I'll start using medium and large format when I become comfortable with the cameras, which is the sooner the better as the idea of using film again has sparked my belly up.

'The Sun' originally fell in August Lesley but it would have been too easy. Got to trouble the grey matter
Death also fell on Halloween but to avoid having kids parents visit me because I'm taking images of the little 'treaters' on my doorstep I also switched that one.
