I know, I know...they're rather clichéd now...but I wondered what the opinion on this type of shot was...

Do they ruffle feathers like overcooked HDR...???

Taken last year on the River Braan, Perthshire with a 10 stop.

Douglas I often try things which in the end I do not really like the results, but it is nice to have at least have done it, found out if it is for you or not. Somehow the doing can make the decision one way or the other. As Brian says the composition is very good.

My thinking too...I obtained a 10-stop because everyone else was doing it, but I can't get away from everything looking artificial and metallic.

Filter now repackaged and off to a well known auction site....:)

I personally like some milky water shots and others don't which is fine.
I too like the composition you have chosen, as others have mentioned, but I probably would have altered the WB to give a warmer look to the scene. Which is once again a personal preference and doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your shot.

I think if everyone liked the same things the world would be a very boring place:).

My comments would reflect more or less what others have said Dougie. For some reason I feel I'm looking at oil and not water and the rocks look a bit polluted by it too. But having said that there is certainly a market (a big one I would say) for this type of image.
It is a good image to post just to hear the other opinions as you requested.

Thanks Tom, and everyone else...that was my main reason for the post - just to see what other opinions were...I personally do not find the image pleasing to look at.

I think, when done sympathetically, these "filtered" shots can be good, but I would suggest it's a knack that not everyone has...
