A Big Fat Picture of Nothing

A day after Petes visit to Stonehenge I was also there, as normal I refuse to pay to go in so set off to the mounds to the west to see what I could do. I tried a shot with the Stones in the middle but that didn't really work so I ended with this and a few more in a similar vain.

Vic I do like your composition, and the sky really draws you into the shot nicely.

The curve of the clouds reflects the curve in the barrow.

Very nice - would make a super inspirational poster or screen wallpaper, for people trapped in their cubes at work

Now I never thought of wandering over there (and I'm a member of English Heritage so it's sort of free). Like Chris say, I like the lead ins etc (although I'd probably take a touch off the bottom to catch the curve of the barrow a bit more). How have you done the PP? It has a sort of old picture quality to it.

Im supprised you didnt mention a mono with a tint pete ... i think a mono with i tint would suit this very nicely ... great shot for a photo of nothing ;)

Thanks chaps. I did consider some croppage but I was happy with it as is (seeing as it's a photo of nothing) and the PP was just regular stuff nothing major. I didn't consider B&W with or without a tint not sure if this would work that way I will have a look and see though.

For a shot with no main focal point it has a really good composition. I think it could do with a focal point but then I guess it would be a picture of something rather than nothing! I do like the way the mound and clouds all seem to push to the gate in the background.
