Now as you'll all know shots like this are not normal for me so any critique would be most welcome

I like them!

I;d like to see a little more detail in those shadows though! Especially the boots/trunk end in No2.

TOP DOG!!!! Loving the B&W!
Fantastically composed image I say. Very well framed! :)

I know exactly what you mean, unfortunately i couldn't get into the room to take the shot for fear of setting of the motion sensors ...again :D

Perhaps try increasing shadow details in LR?

I don't use LR Jim, i use Apple Aperture 3, i'll have another look at it tomorrow as i edit all on my iMac and thats off at the moment

You can perform similar change in Aperture, it's "Shadows" under Highlights & Shadows panel.

I know, I used it on this picture lol and virtually every landscape i've ever done just maybe not quite enough

Oh, ic. I misunderstood the question about boot part of the pic. Dave wants to see more of it, not simply making it brighter... :)

If you take shadows too far in Aperture it kinda looks false and I tried to avoid that if possible, if i could have got in the room i'd have gotten better light but the motion sensors were a bugger, and very noisy the first time they went off :D

Davie, there appear to be walls, floors and ceilings in your shots?

:D :D :D

Loving the barrel vault

This post has just reminded me I have shots from Fort George taken last September that I haven't processed yet:o.
I'll have to have a look at what I have I think:D...
