Wonderful series Julian.
Just wondering...we...at least those of us in the Navy...called them "screws". Props were for planes. Does anyone over there use that term?

A lovely continuity of storyline on these Julian. Images like these will be a cherished resource in the future. You obviously live in a lovely neck of the woods.
Thank you Tom . The idea of these and others I take at this location, are about documenting. Now whether they are wanted in the future is not up to me but they will be there and available anyway. Yes Cornwall is a very interesting neck of the woods.

Well I wonder that Glenn. But Screw here has other connotations, but not the reason. I used Prop as an abbreviation of propeller. Which I think is used on a more regular basis here. Screw is not unknown of either.

Thank you Ivar. We do have a local museum which holds and displays many fine photographs which give great clarity to how things were materially in the days of sail and after. I've always found such photographs to be a source of great interest.
