actually i can give a rough guide how cold, i'm wearing a coat, a carhartt lined coat... and i rarely wear coats, what can i say, it's the viking in me )

I've left my tripod/camera as the waves come in before now - but I've always retreated up the beach to stay dry

That looks like a great location and the sort of waterfall I enjoy getting "close" to. Is it in Dundee?

We used to have family there and possibly still do and used to go up there when we were all kids. I loved the place and "fondly" remember the boating lake

The truth is Davie, that Vikings are pure hardcore, and what your daughter forgot was to take a picture of you getting out of the water, only to see that your in bare feet!

it's just outside Dundee Ian, about 2 miles short of arbroath so that would make it about half an hour from my front door I know the very boating lake you mean, it's still going as a boating lake during the summer months and i may have a photo of it somewhere, i'll let you know

the funniest one was at glencoe, I was lying hot tub style in the waterfall when a group of scouts came over the little hill, the head guy telling them to be careful because the falls were fast moving and dangerous, that all changed of course when they saw me chillin' out and the whole group descended into fits of laughter
