I would say that this is absolutely political. It is not staged and some of you have seen it before but in colour. I personally feel it is more powerful as a political image in black and white. It represents many things as well as my opinion. A lot can be said about it, but I leave that to the viewers.red China out of tibet_IND2368-2 copy.jpg

It certainly reveals her thoughts on the issue and is damned fine image. I can imagine that you would sympathise with her view but only from 'knowing' you better than a casual observer. You could of course be totally ambivalent to the issue. As said, a wonderful image and a fine reportage too. Tricky stuff this!

It does look more powerful in black and white, Ivar. This time I'm focussing more on her eyes and hands - there is a connection between them. Good image. We're it not for the slogan on the window, this could see as just a photo of an artist at work. But, with the slogan, the image takes on an entirely different view and meaning.

Thank you lads. Yes it really tells and it was shot in a refugee camp for Tibetans in Darjeeling India. An area bought by the Americans and given to the Tibetans.
