Advise Pls

I have checked an old Leica len 90mm Elmarit F2.8 (not Tele or Elmarit-M) at a local store on Friday night, the barrel is about 80% new for such an old len, no scratches and haze on the glasses with dust as usual. However I saw there are few clean mark lines from the back of the len under my flash light which make me stop to pay for it immediately. I have took two shots with the 90mm inside the shop and I have just reviewed the jpg in the computer that the photos look totally fine, in this case I assume this len will still works properly with few clean marks, right?

It is very rare that cleaning marks have any significant impact. Personally I'd probably take the risk if the price was right.

And actually, if I remember right you were looking at the 90mm contax mount zeiss at one point?
Well it was using that lens on a contax G1 (which I really count get on with) to take the following photo that inspired me to look for a longer lens for my m7.
So I think I may even be coming at this from the same direction as you!
What a lens that contax 90 is! Such a shame the g1 has such a terrible viewfinder!

Nice image Hamish. I have the 90mm f/2. It was one of my favourite lenses on my film Leicas but I don't use it much these days. I got out of the habit when I bought the M8 as it was so difficult to focus even with the eyepiece magnifier. I really must dig it out and use it again.

Hey Hamish here you go the photo with the 90/2.8. This photo was took by M9P with jpg output directly. Contax 90 is my favorite, however there is no suitable mount to use on Leica M series with properly focus, so I have gave up the Contax at this moment and I am looking for an old Leica 90 len. Pls let me know what you think about the Leica 90.
