Afternoon Sunshine Falling On Sadie

Thank you Rob. However, as to her reading habits, in point of fact she doesn't read medical texts. She appears to have no interest in them whatsoever. (And also, she doesn't actually go into the library--the philistines that run the place won't allow dogs--not even literate ones--so I have to bring the books to her.) But, back to her reading habits, she has recently become interested in the work of E.B. White, after hearing that he had written "One Man's Meat," which she is currently devouring.

Thanks again, Rob!

Cracking shot of the lovely 'lady' Brian. Great placement and pose (although I don't think you can be attributed the credit for that) and what a shadow. A super shot.

Absolutely correct, Pete. She's a natural photogenic model, the wee lassie. (And her shadow models pretty good too.) Thanks a lot, Pete. I appreciate the comments.

I am impressed that Sadie knows the 'Bat Man Mask' pose so well - and excellent executed I must say

So how old can B&W film be, and still work? In your experience...

Thanks, Chris.

If the film is well-kept (cool location) it can last a very long time. I've seen images of film purported to be decades old that still looks good. The film I took this shot of Sadie with came froma person at work who said she found it in a drawer at home. It looks OK despite a decade of non-refrigerated storage. I think if it were color film, though, I would have expected some color shifts.

By the way, I recently bought a Minolta 110 SLR off E-bay. I met the seller locally to pick it up and when she gave it to me she also asked me if I wanted this old camera she'd found in the garage. I of course said yes,...not knowing what was in the old leather bag she had, but of course hoping it was a Leica or something. Alas, turns out it was merely a Kodak Hawkeye Flash Model--yes its no Leica, but its a fun camera and it became my 5th--and also in the bag were two unopened rolls of Kodak 620 color film. One expired in '69 the other in '70. I'm going to shoot them and see what I get.

I now have a vision of Brian as a sort of Albert character! ;)

Classic stuff, Pete, old Steptoe and Son. Haven't seen them in a while. My garage does look a wee bit like their "lounge" at times. :)

She's looking spritely Brian and a fine photo too. You'll have to use this one to print her a personalised book mark for her birthday.

Thanks, Paul. I was just telling SWMBO last night that I'd like to get this fotie printed and framed.
