This one was particularly interesting to me as it captured a mini rainbow beneath me!

That one with the rainbow is incredible!
A testament to the, "its not the camera, its the photographer" maxim!
these are c450 shots again i assume?

Genius!...
I think that shot could probably be takne with an expensive dslr and tweaked in post process ... but im not sure it would be any better really!
very impressive ...
this is what i mean, compo, and subject really are the only essentials ... beyond that its just honing, and learning new tricks etc!

Great shots I think the second one I would have changed to monochrome to get rid of the blown sky one of the problems with using compacts

Thanks Dave

Will I need to buy a separate programme like Photoshop to do this after the photo was taken?

As I was typing, I realised what you meant, in that you would have taken the actual shot in b&w. I'll try that as well next time I'm out.

All the best

Ian

I've just downloaded Picasa to try it. I'm afraid Lightroom is well beyond my financial reach for the time being, especially for a beginner.
Too much music, hifi and beer to get first :p

Anyway, how's this for a first attempt?

What a great location!

Didn't get the scale until Pete pointed pout the people in that last shot - amazing :)

Loving the B&W
