Albert Watson On Skye

One last, last one. I think this was taken on the road that heads across to the west coast. @Davie Hudson?

I think the annoying thing for me was the entourage, he would have gotten more from the experience had he went out alone and allowed the island to soak in. Then and only then should he start taking photos. I thought the whole thing was superficial with no love of the subject at all. the fact he had his technician telling him what was good and what wasn't was particularly strange for me in that I won't allow anyone to see them before I have decided if I like them or not

Obviously someone who works in the fashion industry, and is used to (and maybe dependent on) his entourage - he just got used to working that way. Then some TV person thought, "Let's bring him home to Skye. It will make a nice half-hour viewing". Seems like it was an "in and out" job. Pity.

But who would have 'spritzed' the windscreen then?!

Well, they all had a nice holiday anyway! And PhaseOne got some advertising! :)

Thing is Pete, for a landscape tog Skye is like shooting fish in a barrel. Saying that I'm back at the end of april when I stay in a log cabin in Glencoe for a couple of days :)

That sounds good. Hopefully it will be atmospheric rather than just wet. I must say though, that I enjoyed the landscape of Western Scotland much more when the weather was inclement than when the sun came out. The only thing I would have liked would have been to stay in B&Bs rather than a tent, especially as we were touring on motorcycles.

Sing with me boys
Low lie the Fields of Athenry
Where once we watched the small free birds fly.
Our love was on the wing we had dreams and songs to sing
It's so lonely 'round the Fields of Athenry

Just a celebration of a fantastic win by our rugby team in Paris this evening. Anybody watch it?

Pete, many thanks for going to the bother of locating the slides and then having to scan them to get them on here. Thanks for joining in too Davie with your image. Lovely light on that one. It's always interesting to see how different photographers see things and the different approaches. I was on the island for two weeks and had two weeks of sunshine and high temps, something very rare. Hardly a midge in sight. It seems you had damp weather Pete, did you suffer from the midges. They can be a big problem on the island.
