What the heck do you kids drink these days? :D

Great shot, Hamish. Beautiful flame. Love the dof. What's not to like? But what the heck is the drink? And what did it taste like?

I have no idea what it was... It was ok tasting, I bit sweet for me ... The smoke did genuinely give it a slightly smoked taste flavour ... Nice to try these things, but I wouldn't drink it again!

L'Eclat by Tamara de Lempicka ... Incredibly well identified!
I really like the picture, but it was overshadowed for me by this on another wall which I could stare at for hours

As long as there were no long-lasting effect then!

Aha, one of the film posters for Metropolis, directed by Fritz Lang and filmed at (the other) Babelsberg Studios. I have a full size copy at the top of the stairs leading to the studio in Germany. It's the firth thing you see. You can see it is this screen grab from the security cameras - it looks sunny there this morning!

haha, no, the sweetness did make me pull a face, but it didnt last!

Ive not seen the film through Pete, although I have seen clips and I think I have a copy on the computer somewhere ... I should watch it really, I understand it is well worth a watch and quite timeless in its theme?

You can now buy nearly a full print. The one that was released was less than 1/2 of the planned film and cut with political motivations. Not quite an 'on-the-edge-of-your-seat' thriller but a monumental achievement for its time and a seminal piece of cinematic history.

Yeah, I was just reading about a full length re-release... I think that might be the version I got hold of not so long ago ... Although I cant find it now, I can only think it must be on the old laptop ... ...

I always figure that the Robot 'Maria' was the mother of C3PO - at least in design

Amazing movie - and then you factor-in that it was made in 1927!
