Alexandra Palace

Great to see these shots, Dave, as they remind me of the few times in my late teens, early twenties, when I would get the bus from Dundee to London, a journey of eleven hours or so. It seemed interminable, that is until the tower of the Ally Pally (or however you spell that) hove into sight. There's a good old-fashioned word, hove! I don't think I've ever written it down before. I can assure you it was not commonly used in Dundee in the 1970s!

Thanks for the memories.

Thanks guys. It was the combination of the natural trees and the constructed mast both pushing upwards that appealed to me.

Hove is an old word, of nautical origin. Normally only heard in pirate movies. :) Glad you liked them, been meaning to go back with my camera since seeing Alice Cooper on stage there 4 years ago.
