A view from the train sat stationary on the line between Braunschweig and Hildesheim. Geometry dominates the landscape.

It certainly does. and there's nothing to be seen anywhere that disrupts the geometry. Love the converging lines of the ploughed fields that almost points us to the sliver of the yellow fields in the distance. Having sight of the pylons in the far distance and even that straight line of trees on the right maintains the order of everything. But having the two sets of perfectly parallel tracks in the foreground sets it all up.
With all this stuff, this should be complicated but it couldn't be more simple. And did I mention the light and the colour yet?
They knew you were coming.

Bonnie riggs and sleepers! Hard to believe it stopped in exactly that spot - perfect!

Despite the fantastic colours, I think it would even look great b&w, thanks to the geometry.

For the first time I think Rob is wrong about black and white here. Apart from the geometry, it is the colours and their glow that makes it that special. Or am I wrong?o_O

The sleepers lead my eye to jump over to the plowed field and away from there. Lovely colors and interest in this Pete.
