all of that happy crap

shot my friend's wedding on saturday. with an eye infection from earlier in the week that perforated my cornea..

the past few months i was emailing buddy to see what he and his then fiancee wanted for photos. he would always reply with "you should talk to heather about all of that happy crap." i wasn't allowed in the ceremony, but we took some shots around the mormon temple in washington, dc afterwards and then at the small reception and ring ceremony after.

Yeah,...not your typical wedding shot. Nice!

(The photographer wasn't allowed in the weeding...? Is that normal for LDS weddings?)

I really like this, I wish more wedding photos had a bit more spontaneity like this!

I like how the line of the bride is mirrored by the angle of the shadow on the steps. And that door is a really splendid background.

I hope the eye is better soon, that sounds pretty nasty :(

YOu did them proud Beth - all the best for a speedy recovery, sounds nasty!

completely normal. you can't get past the lobby unless you have an lds id. and if you are mormon and a photographer they still don't let you take photos, what happens in their ceremonies stays private between them and God. i believe once you get past the 4 big guys at the door checking ids you change into a white robe and leave all of your personal belongings behind.

the doors are gold and they had a couple sets of them around the place, and quite a few security cameras to go with them. the lobby, which was the only part of the inside that i saw, was beautiful. dark wood walls and ceilings, blue, purple and cyan stained glass with light shining through from the outside, mirror like granite floor with thick oriental rugs.
