Critique Welcomed Alleys, Passages and Walkways

Since Cleo has joined me I have found that I am walking in different places in and around the 'Shore. Oddly enough for a small town there are a lot of Allies, Passages and Walkways. seems a shame not photograph them as I go...not sure how repetitive this will become but here are a few to begin with....

Oh and although some have names etc I'm not including them, sort of explore for yourself type thing for the locals if I decide to ebook them....

Very nice, Kev, and a good idea for an eBook, especially if you spell alleys properly [stalkeyes] Wondered what you were talking about at first. Thought it was a second-world war reference...

Love the curvy wall in the first.

The mule has gone walkabout ;) High noon Doc Holliday & Wyatt Earp are gonna be strolling down these here alleyway.

I like these Kev and the idea of the photo-survey of the back passages of Pershore! (Where is Kenneth Williams when you want him?! ;) ). Seriously though, the series is a brilliant idea. And could even form part of your submission for the 'My Street' theme! :)

Thanks each, Pete I have other ideas for the 'my street' theme as I live 3 miles from these passages so they might be a bit of a cheat.........:)

I am a bit worried that they may become too repetitive whilst trying to keep so form of commonality to them. I have already found that I am finding the same location interesting and could almost shoot every couple of yards.........:)

Time will tell once i have a full folder of shots......I am going to have to revisit many times as is usual for this type of project but can see some interesting developments. Some of the passageways are rather old I believe, it would be interesting to find some history for them.....and I set myself yet another major project :D:D.....

I know what you mean, Kev, about wanting to shoot every couple of yards. Photography has really helped me feel more, not so much 'at one' with my surroundings, but more 'in place'. Hard to describe. I've become much more aware of my surroundings, and how much beauty can be seen in even the most mundane areas. Your project is right up my street, so to speak.

Rob apart from ~Movember~ this is the first time in ages that I've felt the need to go out and take photos, I took some of the floods but it really is only since taking the dog out down some new places to get her used to me and normal surroundings that I have found the desire again.....

I do know what you mean I was worried that I had lost that over the last couple of months that and what I did shoot I found totally uninspiring and not at all interesting.......

Me too. This one is really nice. Beautiful colour and interesting form. Yes, even the absence of bricks in a brick wall can be fascinating :)

Thanks Hamish, the serpentine walls are at the back of the Cricket/squash/hockey club and running down from No Gains to the end of Bridge Street just at the edge of town.

Beth, I'm hoping So ;)

Yeah, still can't picture it ... I used to "hang out" with a bunch of mates at the sports club when I was about 15 every Friday night ... So I guess it's from then ... Many a girl snogged in those squash courts! :D

I just knew there would be a reason why the 'H' would hang out in those dark secluded passages, rolling candy snout, drinking tizer and .......;)

......and there were some modern time 'H''s doing just that last night too..

I'm Sure Hamish, infact part of this series hopes to uncover the secret back alley life of the former young rogue known locally as the Big Hamush...it would be nice to find that carving you did with the big heart and your initials with those of your secret Valentine..[devil]
