Recent "Fotospiel" adventure around Altona.

"It'll be fun" they said - I made the mistake of choosing my Kiev 88 for this round - 2.5kg of Soviet engineering. To be honest I picked it up for a song a few years ago complete with a 30mm f3.5 Zodiak-8 fisheye lens which was worth more than I paid for the complete outfit. Basically it is a Soviet Zeiss Disatagon copy.

Anyway loaded up a roll of Ilford HP5+ (not my favourite film, I never seem to get the best out of it) as the roll of FP4+ had disappeared from my bag. The word for the day was Crusader cross or cruise liner.

Some images below from the day.

Processed in Ilford Ilfotec-DD-X and scanned in 24bit colour at 3200 dpi. Converted to black and white in Affinity Photo II

Grain wise pretty good for HP5, but muddy images unlike the ones I get from my Zenzas.

The camera and lenses are functional, the film back needs a little attention as it is slipping slightly, I lined up the numbers via the window in the rear of the film back by manual winding.

All finished off with a pleasant meal at an Italian restaurant - who could ask for more!

Next time I'll take an Olympus Mju or an Olympus XA!
