You might have heard of the phrase Anamorphic wide screen. It comes from a system wherein a converter was screwed on to a cinema lens that would effectively compress a wider format image into a normal width of film. This compressed image would then be projected through a projector that had a similar converter on it making it wide again. As far as I know it is where wide screen formats came ...

here is what it looks like when i take a photo with the rx100 held up to the back of it ... I have to zoom in quite far to get it to not vignette ... its also hard to focus as the converter its self focuses with an allen key!

well, not long ago there was a new star trek film and they added loads of flare, i assume it was done as part of the grading process... one way or another I really like it!
I have since found out that that look comes from flare caused by the use of anamorphic lenses ... like this

Love it!
Just gotta find something better to take a picture of than the glow of my iphone torch!
I have also got to try and find a way to attach it to my rx100 in a better way than just holding it in front!
fun fun fun ... this is my diy project by the way
