Another View of Raasay

Hope you're not getting too fed up with B&W Scottish land/seascapes from my holiday in Applecross. This one's different anyway, though. I shot it with Fuji Neopan 400 (instead of my usual Tri-X).

Canon F1 was the camera.

Brin, more pics please. Like this a lot. Having been to Sutherland and across the north coast several years ago, it would be fantastic if I did that trip again and take a decent camera. Maybe I need a cunning plan for the summer.

Not at all. You've put the "aa" in Raasay. Beautiful positioning.
Thanks, Rob!

Wonderfully moody Brian. That spot of sunlight on the water is quite magical isn't it? :)
Thanks, Pete. I found that there was a magical bit of light almost everywhere I turned up in Applecross.

Thats a lovely comp Brian!

Thank you, Hamish. Much appreciated.

Standing on that location infront of the tree such that the house to the right, the structures on the path leading to the tree,
are all in the frame,
waiting for the moment for the light to break on through, composing horizontally & vertically in 3rds
& just the right processing.

Delectable.

p.s. i thought id give analysis a go, although usually i prefer to write the emotion a photo brings out in me.

Fine job of analysis, Ahmad, and I thank you for it. Counterpoint: No analysis went into the comp; I just saw something I liked, raised the camera and took the shot. Anything worthwhile that came out of it is really down to Miss Sarah. (Dipperty.) :o Thanks again, Ahmad.
