Anyone tried a MIR 1v

A lady from work loaned me her dads Zenit E and I'm 90% sure it had a MIR 1v screwed to the front of it.
I never put a film through it because the shutter was lagging so much on the dam thing, never got a chance to see the results.
I may just have a chat with her...... :)

Do it Dan!

Looks like it doesn't it Pete ... I suppose the price stays down due to the potential for issues with them ... Part of the fun for me!

Very nice indeed!

I missed one yesterday, slightly annoyingly ... I'm trying to avoid buying from Russia which limits my options significantly unfortunately ...

my jupiter-9 turned up today, and I'm watching a 1967 helios 44 - the original m42 one as far as I can tell... So plenty to be going on with until I can find an mir

do you have any close ups that show off the oof of the mir, I know it's a wider lens so I'm not looking for mad swirly stuff or anything, just trying to get a grasp of it as a lens... I'm still tempted by a meyer lydith instead you see :)

I haven't had any problems ever buying from Russia or Ukraine. - Don't know if this sentence makes any sense in English....

MY 'Need an extra light' thread of today (in the landscape section) was shot with the MIR too... And no, I hardly ever use it at it's wider apertures, so no OOF.....

Hmm, I've read far to many horror stories when buying direct from the source ... Maybe I'm over cautious, maybe I just don't like the wait ;)

Well...up to you, of course! I just like the lenses being wrapped in brown paper, bound together with some pre-war rope.... :D

Got one! £33 ... Bit more than I wanted to pay, never mind! ...
bagged a Pre v one too ... Old lens is good lens, right? ;)
