B&W at the botanics

OK - odd man out here. The first one doesn't do it for me (too busy and the light is "wrong" - subjects are in shade, background is brightly lit and prominent IMHO).

However ...

I really like the other two. The middle one kinda defies logic as to why I like it (no conventional objective analysis can explain it), but I keep going back to it. The last one is great too as it is a little like "Find Waldo" as to where the focus point is. Both are classic "I'm going to break all the rules" Rob. If they were mine, I would print them both - very, very unique and emotionally pleasing.

BTW - what's the story on the middle one? Accident or did you manually focus to actually get everything in the frame OOF?

I like honest opinions, Keith. Anytime.

You are wrong about the first - the lighting is brilliant! :D

I'm glad you like the other two, and, yes, I have always, in all areas of my life, enjoyed breaking the rules. I did indeed deliberately put the second one oof, just to see what effect I could get. I've done it often. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. That shot is my favourite of the three. The shape looked a bit angelic, and I knew I would deliberately oversaturate it to get that angelic glow.

I wasn't so sure about the last one, but if you like it, then it's good!
