After loads of practice I've taught myself shallow breathing techniques to shoot manual focusing at f/2;

Shot these from the back garden today. I love the soft/painterly effect at f/2.

EOS 5D Mk1 - Samyang 35mm f/1.4 (manual focus) lens - Canon EF 12mm II extension tube - hand-held - j-peg.
