Union dead after the Battle of Huntington Central Park.

Yes, the War Between the States finally reached the West Coast. But it was a very Civil War, since nobody actually died. :)

Yashica 635 and Fomapan 100 film processed in Rodinal.

Thanks, Pete. This was the first time I'd ever attended one of these re-enactments. Next year, when they do it again, I'm going to try to emulate more seriously the foties of the period. No movement of people,...no action shots of any kind. It was fun to play with this image in Lightroom and try to get a proper look to it. The others I shot froze motion (albeit it slow), whereas emulsions of the period could never have done that. Thanks again, Pete.

I had the dubious recognition of being one of the Best Dead Cub Scouts...We had this weird war game where we marched round and round the hall. When the Scout Master clapped his hands, the last person in the file would die, having been shot. After we all died, said Scout Master would inspect us to see who was the best dead person. Unbelievable. I won - and was given a diary. In the diary was a list of favourites, What's your favourite pop song? I wrote These Boots Are Made For Walking by Nancy Sinatra (still a fav). Ah, memories. So, when you think I might be crazy, judging by some of my photos, keep in mind how crazy my life has been! o_O :D

Ha. I wish I did.

Brian, seriously good shot there. I know some specialists in historical banjo music who attend these reenactments in full period costume, with banjos copied from surviving originals. They have a great time. I wouldn't like to be on of the first to get shot. All that time getting ready, only to lie on the grass after two minutes, unable to move for hours. On the other hand, that sounds quite inviting!

Duly noted. But what the hell has that got to do with my fotie? :D

You've redeemed yourself, Rob! :D Thanks for the comments. By the way, I too love that Nancy Sinatra song! :)

Not going to mention I was not in the scouts or that I was not very weird, just not wired correctly, yet I'd like to say I like this pic a lot. Nice one Brian
