Nice image. Sends a message, especially in this political season.

My only critique would be to do a little corrections for the lens distortion so the signs go straight up.

I knew it had to be east of us when I saw that Waffle House sign. Ubiquitous in the South. Did you have a hangover? (A Waffle House breakfast at 4am is just what the doctor ordered!;)) Nice justaposition and timing Chris.

brilliant Chris i guess at dusk, with plenty of light left in sky ..............love it

I visited remote ish waffle house on route to Daytona beach from kissimmee a few years back............defo was an experience i can tell you, it was heaved out but they found us some room to sit down, we were sat facing them cooking and to say we got treated like royalty was understatement, i didn't understand half of menu so they were showing us what is what as they were cooking it for others, they were old older ladies cooking for a heaved out place with lots of workers & truck driver types. They also loved our uk accents haha.

needless to say we got a corking breakfast and plenty of refills of the ink like coffee :-)

Thanks everyone :)

This was taken at dawn Darren - god knows why I was up so early, no alcohol was involved Brian!

The angle available to shoot made the signs lean even more than they show here Ralph - I've already corrected them somewhat, but didn't like the final IQ if I took them all the way to straight. (The picture was to wide and to stretch it back to normal proportions I lost the cars at the bottom of the shot)

Bentonville is the original home of Walmart - so after shooting at the waffle house - I drove downtown to the first Walmart store in the town square - which is now a visitors center/museum/shop/cafe

Talking of the waffle house though - I actually had a local guy come out and ask me what I was taking pictures of - he was in the waffle house, and saw me shooting, and took it upon himself to get in my face to see what the hell I was doing.

He seemed puzzled when I said I was taking a photo of his waffle house! :D

I then showed him the following shot - and explained that 'I wasn't from round here' and that we didn't have waffle houses where I was from.

He seemed happy enough with that and went back indoors - I guess they don't have many photographers visit their little town!

that must be a fairly new (or recently replaced the windows) waffle house. the rule is it's been open 1 year for each half inch of grease on the windows... but nothing beats their waffles. can't say much for the econolodge...

Beth - the one thing you an say about the Econolodge apparently, is that it's HOT! :D

In-breeding!

OK, here's my opinion on what this image really needs:
Put my car in one of the empty paring places but not one that blocks the view of the interior. Then put me at a table with a plate full of waffles in front of me. Place me where I'd be seen from the outside. I'd also like a side of bacon to go with the waffles. Then add a giant flying waffle in the empty sky area. Finally post the revised image for further review ;)
