@Glenn Clabo and @Chris Dodkin you guys should try this stuff. It's new from Hangar 24 Brewery.

Chris I'm sure you can get it in SD. (TJ's even has it up this way.) Glenn, not so sure about availability in Boston area, but worth looking for.

Canon 7D and Mamiya/Sekor 55/1.4.

I hate beer very much because those bloody gas will stay inside my stomach and make me feel sick. I prefer red wine or vodka in person. How much is the bottle of beer cost you in your place Brian?
Don't be a hater Aldous! ;)

Aldous there is a growing community of micro-breweries in the US right now, particularly here in California. The selection is quite enormous and is getting larger every day. Some of the micro-breweries are making quite expensive beer. However, the one I pictured above is probably about $1.25 per bottle in a shop (much higher pricing prevails in restaurants and bars).

I used to drink European beers almost exclusively because the big American Breweries (Anheuser Busch, Coors, Miller, etc.,) make shite. Now, however, with the growth of the American micro-breweries, I don't even consider buying anything other than locally-made beer. Some of it is great stuff.

Mmmmm tasty looking - is it hoppy Brian?

Look inviting Brian. As Pete says there are a lot of Micro Breweries here in the UK, Cornwall has many, other than regulation it does not appear to difficult to set one up. A long time ago I remember India Pale Ale as being the favourite among many. A shame any alcohol just gives me a belly ache now, but sorely miss that cold bottle after a hot hard day.

A nice portrait tribute to your beer Brian.
Boys listen! I won't take the piss out of any of these beers because if I do there will be nothing left in them. So, the only alternative is the real black stuff (there's eating and drinking in it) but ye will have to repair to the land of green grass, ghost housing estates, mass unemployment and the great saint if ye want a decent pint of it and beware of the numerous copy cats:).

This seems to be a trend. The UK has long had micro-breweries but it seems they are even appearing on the European mainland. Someone told me last week that about 12 have started around Prague in the last couple of years. One of the restaurants we frequented had a fine semi-dark beer made in such a brewery. Damned fine it was and only about 40 CZK for 500 ml!

Thanks, for commenting, Pete. Well, I suppose the trend toward the microbrews is merely the beer world coming full circle, since the big companies have done their best to gobble up the locals, and now they so often find themselves on the wrong end of the beer drinking public's opinion. It's very cool!

IPA seems to be a huge trend here. (Glad I don't have your tummy problem, Julian!)

Ye cannae beat the real black stuff, Tom. And there's nae point in trying. And that is why nae micro-brewed stout ever crosses these pipes.

I do actually prefer it to the other stuff and, having a customer in Cork, I do get to partake of the original every now and then. It is not as bitter as the other stuff.
Well,...I suppose if I were in Cork I might do as the Corkers do. But only out of politeness.
