Dan Down - The Steampunk Womble
iPhone5 & Splice.

Just an to how well this Splice app works. It has a lot of potential.
There is plenty if room for improvement on this video, transition from clips, not arranging the clips in time sequence, steadycam!! Slower fps, etc etc.
But you really need to spend a lot of time on it.
This is just a quick mess around of my journey to shop and back.

Hope you enjoy

And there's no audio??! Where has that gone then?

Aha!! Copyright! :)

Where's your helmet sonny! ;)

There's some really nice bits in there. Loved the blurred foliage flashing past in the return part and where you tracked the cars etc both in the car park on the way home. Also when you followed the other cyclist as he went past. Inward journey felt a bit long but maybe with a soundtrack that would be OK but I liked most of the supermarket sequence. Overall you see to have a good eye for this (and a steady hand). Keep 'em coming/ :)

Thanks Pete. :)
I did put some audio over it, chose a track in which I got from iTunes, but copyright legislation on YouTube muted the audio! Fair enough I say, can't argue with that. Quite a funky track too.
Just looking into the permission request of the artist... See how I get on there. .'/

It's nice when people ask.

There was a girl in Texas who put one of my albums online for free download. It was pointed out to me by a guy in Japan. I knew neither of them. So, I told the record company. They had spent £10,000 making, producing, copying, distributing, advertising and selling the album, covering all costs up front. You can well imagine they were not happy. But it took one strongly-worded letter from their lawyer (which also cost money) to the girl, before she took it down. That was about eight years ago. Nowadays most of my stuff is available free online, and I am not at all famous (thankfully!). The companies can no longer keep track of it all.

So these days I just record at home. I can do an album for £30 :) And if you can get hold of those tracks and use them in a non profit-making video - be my guest

That's not a rant, by the way, I'm quite cool about it.

I actually enjoyed that silent movie! Kind of mesmerising!

Ooh, good job YouTube reminded me of copyright.
I have emailed the record label for permission to use the track in question for that video. I would prefer it with the music, so I'll wait in a response and see how I get on.

In the meantime, I totally respect copyright infringement and am glad that I'm reminded about it which is why I'm not making a fuss about it.

See how I get on with the permission side if things. Something I haven't done before so quite interesting to see how it'll turn out. :)

Which track did you choose Dan?

Haha!! I think an update of electro tunes is in order for you Chris :)

Have been enjoying albums by Kick Bong recently Dan - worth checking out if you haven't listened to them

Yeah, they've been going for a while now. I have a few tracks of theirs. Prefer the older stuff.
A track I can't stop listening to is from the new 'New Blood 013' called Unfolding by Etherwood.
I sleep to that song, sends me in a daze! Outstanding through a good set of cans/phones.

'Obsession' and 'Comos Los Cerdos' by Djrum are great too.
Cynical - Mr FijiWiji. Jakwob & Mayday - Fade (Etherwood VIP). Trolley Snatcha - Always on my mind...... Chris, I could crash RPF if I filled this thread with recommendations because it would exceed anything that Larry Bolch could write. :):)
I think I'll keep you posted PM :)
