Blair Witch Project

I was just meditating five minutes ago: if I want to truly enjoy photography again, I need to be less documentary and more instinctive. I’m not sure whether this photo leans more towards documentary or experimental, but I felt the need to share my thoughts with someone who can understand me. So, I hold onto this beautiful photo as my justification.

I do understand, Gianluca; shooting this image was more of an instinctive thing, mainly based on the feeling I had at the time.

I never saw that film but certainly know about it. Stepping out of the normal everyday thinking and seeing can certainly be a part of the photography learning process.

I saw this scene from the highway and just knew I had to try and photograph it. I shot the better of a 36 exposure roll trying to find "the" shot I was looking for. This is one of the final four that I narrowed it down to. Two vertical and two horizontal. I liked the ones shot mostly or full wide open. I like the out of focus feel adding to the disorientation. I have a chair series that this is part of.
