It seems something has really clicked (no pun intended) between you and this model and I can see it in the photographs over time.
Glad you can see that Paul - close collaboration and feedback has enabled both of us to step-up or game, and get to the results we're after.
We go through 100% of the images from a shoot afterwards, and review why certain shots connect and others don't
Both from the model's viewpoint, and the photographer's.
The model has a widely different point of reference, which completely threw me a loop at first, as she would pick favorite shots which to me were less than ideal photographically. And I'd pick photographically sound shots which she'd reject due to some issue with pose or how it made body features look etc.
It's a very interesting process.
We've started to weed out bad posing traits, bad comp traits from me, and also see where we're falling into a standard pattern of image and need to break out.
She is also more confident about suggesting comps when we're shooting, and actually has a really good eye for possible shots.
She has also come to trust my direction and ideas, as she can see that they (mostly) lead to good and interesting results.
Planning to shoot a calendar and maybe a coffee table book together - all good ways of focussing on improving the final result.
