Most often here in USA its spelled "donut."

Shot taken at Farmer's Market in Los Angeles on July 4.

Normally on July 4 we go to see the Huntington Beach 4th of July parade. This year, however, SWMBO (whose birthday is 4 July) wanted to do something different, and offered up the suggestion of a trip to L.A.

We discovered that 4th of July is very different in L.A. Its only 35 miles or so away, but its a different culture up there. Very different from the beach town mentality.

Well, it is a nut made of dough so it makes sense to me.
That's logic Paul. We're talking' language here, not logic! ;)

I make reference back to my previous comment. You doo suffer for your art don't you!! ;)

Nice shot though with the slightly blurred figures and blurred ceiling fan. I like the colour contrasts too.

What sort of differences Brian?
Thanks, Pete. Can you think of anything better than Bob's Coffee and Doughnuts for you're wife's birthday dinner?;)

HB: Its all about Red White and Blue, bathing suits, sun tans, barbecues on the lawn, flying the flag, thanking the troops and getting drunk and noisy and obnoxious.

LA: Mercedes-Benz's, Rodeo Drive, long pants and polo shirts, the occasional habib, frequent headscarves and the wee skull caps the Jewish gentlemen wear.

It was Caiti, my eldest, who first remarked on the cultural differences. "Nobody's wearing read white and blue up here!" she said.

I hate the fact that they call them donuts over here! :(

But they also have 24 hr donut drive thru's, so that does make up for the spelling issues :D

Looks like a nice famers market Brian - but you're a brave man going uptown.

Thanks, Chris. It's "The" Farmer's Market in LA. Its been there for decades. Next time you're up in LA near "The Grove" you should check it out, Chris. It's actually adjacent to The Grove. You'll have plenty of lunch choices other than doughnuts.

Ooooooo, you are awful Pete!

And you Brian! :D
