Bodiam Castle

I had processed a similar shot to this a few weeks back but didn't really like it, so I thought I'd try one without the duck and a slightly different crop.

I always like to pop in here it's a really photogenic castle, although I was there at the wrong time of day really and had to rush off I still thought I'd better take a few shots.

I think the trees on the left should be cropped? Also it's got a bit of a overdone HDR effect to it that makes it look like a scene from a computer game rather than a photograph. Sorry if that seems a bit negative I do actually like it but those 2 things immediately bugged me when I saw it.

Hmmm, maybe your right. Although I don't have a problem with the trees on the left (I kinda like them there) it maybe a tad over done, but it was always the direction I was drawn when I was PP it. Although it's not really HDR just a slight application of Topaz and BP again both these layers were then adjusted in opacity. I think I saturated it a little to much. I was tempted to convert to B&W but that seemed an easy option although it looked pretty good.

I'll have to have a rethink then, the only thing I didn't really like was the water colour....I'll try another and see what happens, I'll try and make this a little more post cardy:)

I tried. I honestly tried but it came out the same. I guess it's just the way I process I can't help it! although it looked good in B&W.

I think that the trees lead you into the pic from the left hand side plus with the reflection of said trees it keeps the base of the pic in balance, but maybe that the reflection should be perhaps slightly graduated a smidge and maybe lightened to make a balanced eyeballed pic. Yes, agree, don't over process. Used to go here so often when I was a child, lovely place.
