Critique Welcomed Branch in Water

I know some members are not too keen on HDR work but I would be interested on the views of the forum.

This shot was taken during a walk around Delapre lake in Northampton I could not find much to photograph at first, then I came across this old branch with a setting sun in the background.

I processed the image to achieve what I class as `Photoartistry"

For me it looks like it's lost some clarity and crispness on the tree. Is it a three exposure HDR? Did you do one exposure just for the sunset as that area still looks a little blown out to me. I don't see why you need the sunset at all, that tree and the water can carry the shot with the kind of PP you're applying.

It is certainly striking Steve and I like the composition. I know it is an HDR image but I find the branch itself to be a bit too light.

I think its very nicely composed, Steve. HDR is a turn off for me, though. (I intend no offense.)

The important thing is that the composition is pretty good, and for me it's only let down (as has been mentioned) by the post processing. Because of the angles within the image, it might work well as a high contrast black and white.

I like the composition and very nicely composed. I agree with Pete that the branch is a bit too light
