I agree Pete. If he shoved his camera in my face by surprise like that I'd be very unhappy.

Well,...I guess if I knew it was him I would be OK with it because of his notoriety. But some random stranger (as Gilden must surely appear to most of his subjects) shoving a camera and flash in my face unexpectedly may find himself confronting a hitherto (but no longer) peace loving Scot.

As much as I love to be out in the streets, interacting with people, taking photographs of them as well as documenting what takes place, his photogrphy has never impressed me much. I sometimes wonder why photographers as he gets so famous? But I enjoyed the film, especially when he had his time with the lady.

I don't disagree with your opinion, Ivar. But I do find his images interesting, at least from anthopological point of view.
