Brutalist Barbi

The Barbican Centre in London is regarded as a Brutalist classic, and it was my first-ever visit. I could recognise that a LOT of thought, some of it very subtle went it it - inside and outside - but ultimately it left me cold. I do see it as a classic of its genre, though. All phone shots, as I'd run out of film - Huawei P9.

In no particular order...

1. Looking into the Plant Room, a reflected block of flats dominated the view:

2. I like a free model...she was being photographed by a pro somewhere off-camera:

4. The balconies stress me out somewhat:

If interested, there is more about the architecture of the Barbican here: https://www.barbican.org.uk/our-story/our-building/our-architecture and https://www.barbican.org.uk/our-story/our-archive/construction

...and here is a photo archive of its construction: http://sites.barbican.org.uk/buildingthebrutal/

A fine set of images. That does look like a most interesting location for any architecture enthusiast, shall add it to my "to do" list.

Thank you for the photos. I like modern architecture, but this is not what makes me enthousiast. Not because of the photos, don't understand me wrong, just because of the architecture. Too sober for me, I guess. Too much right in the face. Don't know, hard to explain...
