Buoy Surfer with horizon and shore line

Julian,...sorry,...I got so carried away with memories of The Prisoner (and my excitement the Number One had revealed himself at last) that I forgot to comment on the photos. I prefer the color one. What I really like about it is,...well,..the colors! You've managed to capture an amazing inky blue in the foreground water, which contrasts so pleasantly with the green of the wave, while The Prisoner "bubble" atop the curl adds interest. Very nice image!

No need for apologies Brian. What does intrigue me now is this. As you have identified Rob as being No.1, whats the significance of this finding? Need we worry?

No need to worry, Julian, unless that bubble starts following you everywhere or chasing you. Patrick McGoohan was the protagonist in the series. You may remember him from the series "Danger Man" ("Secret Agent" in the USA.) In The Prisoner he portrayes a secret agent who quits the service for unknown reasons. He won't reveal the reasons. He is drugged and awakens in what seems an idyllic seaside village. Thereafter he is called "Number Six." His goal is to escape the village,...but he is always foiled in his attempts to do so. Every week, in the opening sequence, he demands to know "Who is Number One?" But he never finds out. Now we know! :)

Sounds like one of those dreams where your trying to run out the way of an oncoming vehicle and your legs are like lead and you cannot move fast enough. Think I'll avoid that one.

I am guessing that a lot of these references are to old tv shows. I grew up near an idyllic village without electricity, so no tv . It was the radio for us. A big gap in my life and I thought at the time I was missing something. Aha yes Robs reference to escape. I now feel I am have missed out on a big part of life's education.

Perhaps you actually grew up in "The Village" and never realised. If you did Rob is not letting on that he knew you then. Of course he's Number One so you wouldn't have know him.

Great image Julian wonderful sense of timing about it and the horizontal bands of colour broken by the bright buoys are really nice.

Paul I was in this case astute enough ( which is unusual) to realise the possibility of this conclusion being drawn to by those that do not know. I am now worried and those balloon like things that appear to be chasing me are something else entirely.

Firstly - I love the color palette - gorgeous shades of blue and green

Secondly - I like the crop and the way the strip of sky matches the strip of beach, they top and tail the image in another frame

Thirdly - the pop of color from the buoy - draws the eye perfectly

Can't help but notice the utter absence from you Chris of a remark about The Prisoner, the "village," etc. Hmmm....maybe you are Number One? Or are you Number 2? Which is it?

I am not a number, I am a free man!
